适应症
用于治疗脑型疟疾和其它严重的恶性疟。
用法用量
1.成人用量 按体重5-10mg/kg（最高量500mg），加入氯化钠注射液500ml中静脉滴注，4小时滴完，12小时后重复1次，病情好转后改口服。 2.小儿用量 剂量同成人，按体重5~10mg/kg(最高量500mg)。
不良反应
1.本品每日用量超过1g或连用较久，常致金鸡纳反应，此与水杨酸反应大致相似，有耳鸣、头痛、恶心、呕吐，视力听力减退等症状，严重者产生暂时性耳聋，停药后常可恢复；
2.24小时内剂量大于4g时，可直接损害神经组织并收缩视网膜血管，出现视野缩小、复视、弱视等；
3.大剂量中毒时，除上述反应加重外，还可抑制心肌、扩张外周血管而致血压骤降、呼吸变慢变浅、发热、烦躁、谵妄等，多死于呼吸麻痹；
4.少数病人对奎宁高度敏感，小量即可引起严重金鸡纳反应；
5.少数恶性疟患者使用小量奎宁可发生急性溶血（黑尿热）致死；
6.奎宁还可以引起皮疹、瘙痒、哮喘等。⑦静脉滴注应密切观察血压变化。
禁忌
孕妇禁用。
注意事项
1.对于哮喘、心房纤颤及其他严重心脏疾患、葡萄糖-6-磷酸脱氢酶缺乏患者和妇女月经期均应慎用。
2.对诊断的干扰：奎宁可干扰17-羟类固醇的测定。
3.静脉推注易致休克，所以严禁静脉推注。
