适应症
静脉全麻药。用于全麻诱导，复合全麻及小儿基础麻醉。
用法用量
临用前，用灭菌注射用水溶解成2.5%溶液后应用。常用量:静脉注射成人一次按体重4～8mg/kg。老年人应减量至2～2.5mg/kg；肌内注射小儿一次按体重5～10mg/kg。极量:静脉注射一次全麻总用量1g。
不良反应
（1）本品易致呼吸抑制，静注时速度宜缓慢。（2）可引起咳嗽、喉与支气管痉挛。（3）麻醉后胃贲门括约肌松弛，易致误吸和返流。（4）剂量过大或注射速度过快，易导致严重低血压和呼吸抑制；较大剂量可出现长时间延迟性睡眠。（5）少数病例会出现异常反应，如神智持久不清、兴奋乱动、幻觉、皮肤及面部红晕、口唇或眼睑肿胀、瘙痒或皮疹、腹痛、全身发抖或局部肌肉震颤、呼吸不规则或困难、甚至出现心律失常，应立即作有效的对症治疗。（6）苏醒中常出现寒战发抖，一般可自行消失，如长时间昏睡不够清醒、头痛以及恶心呕吐时，应引起重视，须加强监护防出意外。
禁忌
休克低血压未纠正前及心力衰竭患者以及卟啉症等禁用。
注意事项
（1）本品水溶液不稳定，应临用前配制，如发现沉淀、浑浊或变色即不能应用。（2）本品呈强碱性，2.5%溶液pH在10以上，静脉注射可引起组织坏死；误入动脉可出现血管痉挛、血栓形成，重者肢端坏死；肌内注射易致深层肌肉无菌性坏死，无特殊情况不要应用。（3）用于血容量不足或脑外伤患者，易出现低血压和呼吸抑制危象，甚致心搏骤停。（4）用药时注意监测呼吸深度和频率、血压、脉搏、心律以及呼吸和循环功能等。（5）粘液水肿、阿狄森氏病、重症肌无力患者等也应慎用。（6）严重肝、肾、甲状腺功能不全及新生儿慎用。
贮藏
密闭，在凉暗干燥处保存。
