适应症
本品用于 1．肠道感染。 2．亦可用于结肠手术前肠道准备或肝昏迷时作为辅助治疗。新霉素不宜用于全身性感染的治疗。
用法用量
口服给药，儿童按体重一日25～50mg/kg，分4次服用，成人： 1. 一次0.25～0.5g(以新霉素计)，一日4次。 2.肝性脑病的辅助治疗，一次0.5～1g，每6小时1次，疗程5～6天。 3.结肠手术前准备，每小时0.5g，连用4次，继以每4小时0.5g，共24小时。
不良反应
1. 可引起食欲不振、恶心、腹泻等，但长期应用(10周以上)不影响维生素K的合成。
2. 较少发现听力减退、耳呜或耳部饱满感;头昏或步履不稳;尿量或排尿次数显著减少或极度口渴。
3. 偶可引起肠粘膜萎缩而导致吸收不良综合征及脂肪性腹泻，甚至伪膜性肠炎。
禁忌
对新霉素或其他氨基糖苷类抗生素过敏的患者禁用本品。
注意事项
1. 交叉过敏 对一种氨基糖苷类抗生素如链霉素、庆大霉素、阿米卡星过敏的患者也可能对本品过敏。
2. 在用药过程中仍宜定期进行尿常规和肾功能测定，以防止出现肾毒性，并进行听力检查或听电图测定。3. 下列情况应慎用本品: 失水、第8对脑神经损害、重症肌无力、帕金森病、肾功能损害、溃疡性结肠炎及有口腔牙病患者(新霉素可引起口腔刺激或疼痛)。
4. 长期口服本品的慢性肠道感染患者尤其伴有肾功能减退或同服其他耳毒性或肾毒性药物者仍应注意出现肾毒性或耳毒性症状的可能。

密封，在干燥处保存。
