适应症
1．用于诊断嗜铬细胞瘤及治疗其所致的高血压发作，包括手术切除时出现的高血压，也可根据血压对本品的反应用于协助诊断嗜铬细胞瘤；2．治疗左心室衰竭；3．治疗去甲肾上腺素静脉给药外溢，用于防止皮肤坏死。
用法用量
1．成人常用量：(1)用于酚妥拉明试验，静脉注射5mg（0.5支），也可先注入1mg，若反应阴性，再给5mg（0.5支），如此假阳性的结果可以减少，也减少血压剧降的危险性；(2)用于防止皮肤坏死，在每1000ml含去甲肾上腺素溶液中加入本品10mg（1支）作静脉滴注，作为预防之用。已经发生去甲肾上腺素外溢，用本品5～10mg（0.5～1支）加10ml氯化钠注射液作局部浸润，此法在外溢后12小时内有效；(3)用于嗜铬细胞瘤手术，术时如血压升高，可静脉注射2～5mg或滴注每分钟0.5～1mg，以防肿瘤手术时出现高血压危象。(4)用于心力衰竭时减轻心脏负荷，静脉滴注每分钟0.17～0.4mg。2．小儿常用量：(1)用于酚妥拉明试验，静脉注射一次1mg，也可按体重0.15mg/kg或按体表面积3mg/m2。(2)用于嗜铬细胞瘤手术，术中血压升高时可静脉注射1mg，也可按体重0.1mg/kg或按体表面积3mg/m2，必要时可重复或持续静脉滴注。
不良反应
较常见的有直立性低血压，心动过速或心律失常，鼻塞、恶心、呕吐等；晕厥和乏力较少见；突然胸痛(心肌梗死)、神志模糊、头痛、共济失调、言语含糊等极少见。
禁忌
严重动脉硬化及肾功能不全者，低血压、冠心病、心肌梗死，胃炎或胃溃疡以及对本品过敏者禁用。
注意事项
作酚妥拉明试验时，在给药前、静脉给药后至3分钟内每30秒、以后7分钟内每1分钟测一次血压，或在肌肉注射后30～45分钟内每5分钟测一次血压。对诊断的干扰，降压药、巴比妥类、鸦片类镇痛药、镇静药都可以造成酚妥拉明试验假阳性，故试验前24小时应停用；用降压药必须待血压回升至治前水平方可给药。
