适应症
用于全身诱导、复合麻醉及小儿基础麻醉。
用法用量
(1)全麻诱导：静脉注射一次每公斤体重1～2毫克，约在1分钟内注入，全麻可持续5～10分钟。(2)全麻维持：静脉注射或用氯化钠注射液稀释后静滴。一次每公斤体重0.5～1毫克，每小时用量不超过每公斤体重3～4毫克。(3)小儿基础麻醉：肌内注射一次每公斤体重4～8毫克。(4)极量：静脉注射每公斤体重每分钟4毫克，肌内注射一次每公斤体重13毫克。
不良反应
(1)麻醉恢复期可出现幻觉、躁动不安、恶梦及谵语等，且青壮年多且严重。(2)术中常有泪液、唾液分泌增多，血压、颅压及眼压升高。不能自控的肌肉收缩偶见。(3)偶有呼吸抑制或暂停、喉痉挛及气管痉挛，多半是在用量较大、分泌物增多时发生。
禁忌
顽固、难治性高血压、严重的心血管疾病及甲抗病人禁用。
注意事项
(1)颅内压增高、脑出血、青光眼患者不宜单独使用。(2)静脉注射切忌过快，否则易致一过性呼吸暂停。(3)苏醒期间可出现恶梦幻觉，预先应用镇静药，如苯二氮卓类，可减少此反应。(4)完全清醒后心理恢复正常需一定时间，24小时内不得驾车和操作精密性工作。(5)失代偿的休克病人或心功能不全病人可引起血压剧降，甚致心搏骤停。
