适应症
用于单纯饮食控制不满意的非胰岛素依赖型糖尿病人，尤其是肥胖者。本品不但有降血糖作用，还可能有减轻体重的作用。对某些磺酰脲类无效的病例有效。
用法用量
口服，进餐时或餐后即刻服用，成人开始一次0.25g，一日2～3次，以后根据血糖和尿糖调整用量，每日最大剂量不超过2.0g，或遵医嘱。
不良反应
尚不明确。
禁忌
1.非胰岛素依赖型糖尿病伴有酮症、酸中毒、肝肾功能不全、心力衰竭、急性心肌梗塞、严重感染、外伤、重大手术、败血症以及临床有低血压和缺氧情况。
2.对本品过敏者。
注意事项
1.与胰岛素合用会增强降血糖作用，故应调整剂量。
2.本品可加强抗凝药(如华法林等)的抗凝血作用，导致出血倾向。
3.胰岛素依赖型糖尿病不应单独应用本品。
4.定期检查血糖、尿糖、尿酮体、肾功能等。
5.既往有乳酸性酸中毒史者禁用。
6.发生有皮疹等过敏反应者应停药。 7.本品如与含醇饮料同服可发生腹痛，酸血症及体温过低。
8.本品与磺酰脲类并用时，可引起低血糖，应监测患者血糖浓度。
